1. All articles should be emailed as attachments in Open Office or MS Word (.doc only) format — single-spaced, left-aligned, 12-point Times New Roman — to editor@telecomreseller.com. Acceptable length is 350-500 words. Important — If you are using Track Changes, be sure to Accept Changes and then disable tracking before sending your article. Do not send multiple versions of the same article, and do not include graphics and formatting such as bold, underlining, indenting, headers, footers and/or page numbers.
Please note that we cannot use docx, docm, or pdf formats.
2. At the end of the article, please provide contact information — author and or contact name(s), company/organization titles (if applicable), company or division name, phone numbers, email and/or web addresses. This provides our reader with a way to respond to your article or place an order.
3. Do not use all uppercase words, either in headlines or in copy. The exception to this would be when a company's name is an acronym (e.g. IBM).
4. Do not send graphics, pdfs or similar files (such as PageMaker or Quark) unless specifically requested to do so.
5. Do not telephone, email or fax us regarding your submissions. We will contact you if and when necessary.
6. Acronyms
Corporate Identity
Acronyms should be used only after they have been defined. When using an acronym (e.g. United Communications = UC), spell out the complete title in its first reference — "...said John Smith of United Communications (UC)." Then use the acronym in all subsequent references in the balance of the story.
Technical
Please follow the above guideline when using acronyms on technical terms which may be new or not widely recognized. For example, MTBF (mean time between failure), is not as well- recognized as PBX (private branch exchange). You would want to identify MTBF in first reference before using the acronym in second reference, while PBX would not require definition.
7. Please keep your submission topical. Telecom Reseller is a newspaper about networking products and is read by telecommunications professionals. Readers look to the paper to deliver news, advice and opinions on technical issues regarding telecom products, solutions and services.
While articles that cover disaster recovery and related issues will be considered, we urge writers to use discretion. While making readers aware of a case study, product or service used to recover a network may be appropriate news, stories that cross the line of good taste and seek to sell products and services by generating fear and/or linking them to human misfortune may be considered inappropriate.
8. Please write simply and clearly, in order to promote readers' understanding.
9. We reserve the right to edit for content and length.
10. All articles, graphics and other creative materials submitted become the property of Telecom Reseller, Inc. Reprints of articles published in Telecom Reseller (hardcopy) or Telecom Reseller OnLine require the express permission of the publisher.
