Quintum Auto-discovery

Quintum Technologies announced they have completed beta testing of two technologies that will allow their service provider customers to deploy Tenors and configure them automatically, without requiring an on-site visit. The auto-discovery interface allows identification of all Tenors being deployed by their IP address, serial number, software version and description.

Tenors will now include a software interface that enables auto-provisioning in conjunction with the provider's existing back-office systems. These interactions are carried out using standard secure signaling protocols with individual unit authentication to insure maximum system integrity. This mechanism can also be used for automatic software upgrades and other system maintenance tasks.

This allows providers to easily provision, configure and manage their network of Tenors remotely. It can facilitate rapid deployment of new customer services and reduce initial installation costs. With Quintum's external Remote Management Session Server, Tenors deployed behind enterprise NAT firewalls can be evaluated, upgraded and configured.

"As VoIP is being adopted by mainstream business customers, providers must be able to respond quickly to customer needs and minimize the cost of CPE deployment," said Chuck Rutledge, Vice President of Marketing. "The auto-discovery and auto-provisioning features will support the ability to efficiently grow and support their customer base."
