Sipera and Nortel
Sipera Systems announced its IPCS line of security appliances has been designated a Nortel Select Product that strategically complements Communication Server 2100. The products achieved status based on analysis of the company’s VoIP/UC security solutions and input from Nortel customers. Additionally, they successfully completed compatibility testing in a Nortel Lab environment.
“Security is top of mind for our customers and Nortel views it as a key strategic differentiator” said Peter Simmons, product management leader. “By working with Sipera we can offer real-time VoIP threat prevention, policy compliance and secure access functionality in one device.”
IPCS appliances are managed by a single centralized console and can be deployed to secure SIP trunks and VoIP remote users in front of Communication Server to protect core systems, or between enterprise networks such as the voice and data VLAN to enforce UC policies.
“To realize the cost savings, business continuity advantages and productivity improvements of Unified Communications, it’s essential to ensure privacy of communications, authentication of users and end-points, enforce policies and protect the network and devices from attack,” said Eric Winsborrow, Chief Marketing Officer for Sipera. “Nortel recognizes the value of a partner that is focused on real-time security. Our combination of a dedicated VoIP vulnerability research lab and UC expertise has been embraced by customers.”
