Optimum Lightpath

As the business telecommunications services division of Cablevision Systems, Optimum Lightpath has been in business for 18 years focusing on medium-size and larger enterprises. They provide headquarters and multiple locations with transport, data backup and recovery via reliable fiber optic right to the customer's site.

Within a year of its offering, the company saw dramatic growth in their Referral Partner Program, tripling the number of system integrators, VARs and IT consultants. With their own direct sales force, Optimum relies on them to provide leads and be rewarded once that turns into a sale.

Two years ago the company began offering Metro Ethernet services. They serve over 95% of hospitals on Long Island along with financial services companies and educational and government institutions with rapid, high-capacity transmission bandwidth. Strauss says the company's offerings are half the cost of phone carriers.

Their network spans over 2,700 route miles, providing fiber-to-the-business-premises to more than 2,100 commercial buildings.
