Triple-play provider will add smart-premise monitoring and control services, and hosted video surveillance over its extensive FTTH infrastructure
October 18, 2012, SCTE Expo, Orlando, Florida— Clear2there LLC, a leading provider of advanced video surveillance, smart-home, smart-business, communications, and M2M solutions for service providers and enterprises, announced that it has reached an agreement with West Wisconsin Telcom to provide smart-home and smart-business services and hosted video surveillance and storage solutions to subscribers spanning six counties in Northwestern Wisconsin.
As part of the agreement, the company will leverage Clear2there’s Service Provider Solution and the Clear2there InfiniVi Video Storage Platform as the foundation for the new services. These include video surveillance and archival applications, energy management, thermostat control, flood and leak detection, as well as support for a broad range of smart sensors and devices commonly used in residential, agricultural, and business smart-premise deployments.
“West Wisconsin Telcom has been delivering the latest technologies to our customers for more than 50 years. The addition of self-monitored smart services continues this commitment by offering a whole new scope of capabilities that will help our subscribers to better monitor and manage their homes, farms and places of business better through their mobile device or computer,” said Todd Sisko, Plant Supervisor for West Wisconsin Telcom. “We anticipate a strong demand for these services across the full range of our subscriber base.”
Clear2there’s smart-home and smart-business portfolio for service providers incorporates a number of turnkey customer premise bundles, Cloud- and Central Office-based application service platforms, and the award winning Viewbiquity Cloud Application Suite, resulting in customizable service offerings with flexible deployment options that allow providers to increase revenue, enhance customer service and improve profitability.
Some of the factors that contributed to West Wisconsin’s selection of Clear2there included simple installation and maintenance, centralized control for software updates, compliance with industry standards for smart devices, seamless Internet access to monitored data from consumer smart-phones and tablets, and flexibility to maximize resource utilization in the Central Offices and in the Public Cloud.
According to Craig Steen, Clear2there president and chief executive officer, West Wisconsin Telcom’s aggressive deployment of Fiber To The Home (FTTH) across its six-county service area provides them with a significant competitive advantage. “Internet-based surveillance and smart-home service providers consistently fight bandwidth availability challenges that the last-mile provider doesn’t have to worry about. With the video storage and smart-premise application servers located in the central office, the local service provider can support high-definition video surveillance and an extremely high-reliability connection to the customer premise – something that is very difficult to achieve through the public Internet.”
