ShoreTel recently acquired the M5 cloud communications service. It has been renamed as SKY. Nate Pruitt Sr. Director, Demand Generation, Cloud Division at ShoreTel spoke of the acquisition and what ShoreTel intended to do with the cloud service offering.

In this podcast, Nate provides an overview of the M5 acquisition process and the name change to SKY. He discusses the choices of an on premises, cloud, and hybrid solutions. He said the cloud is better for the small office that does not have the IT staff to manage communications.

SKY now has the mobility product of ShoreTel as an example of the integration of the two companies. Nate mentioned that some industry analysts expect cloud services to equal or surpass the on premises solutions.  Their market is U.S. focused but expected to expand internationally.
