Ferrari electronic’s OfficeMaster Gate media gateway and OfficeMaster Survivable Branch Appliance (SBA) platforms part of Novus’ full suite of appliances, IP phones and accessories fully compatible and integrated with Microsoft Lync

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (June 20, 2012) – Novus, a boutique telecommunications and IP distributor serving value-added resellers throughout North America, announced today the expansion of its portfolio of infrastructure for Microsoft Lync through a distribution partnership with Ferrari electronic AG, a leading German-based telecom infrastructure and solutions provider. Novus will serve as the official North American distributor of Ferrari’s media gateway and SBA solutions for Microsoft Lync – OfficeMaster Gate and OfficeMaster Survivable Branch Appliance.

Ferrari electronics OfficeMaster Gate media gateway and OfficeMaster SBA are available in flexible configurations, as either appliances or PCI boards that can be installed in servers from HP, Dell and other leading manufacturers. “Resellers will find the licensing options particularly appealing, since they can optionally configure gateway and survivable branch appliance functionality on a single card to reduce power consumption, minimize rack space and save money,” said Meehan. “All enhancements are firmware upgrades, making these products easy to deploy and maintain for resellers trying to implement Lync solutions to branch offices or outlying facilities.”

The following Ferrari electronic products are immediately available to resellers throughout North America from Novus:

OfficeMaster Gate is a Microsoft-certified media gateway that interconnects traditional telephony and Office Communications Server 2007 R1/R2 as well as Exchange Server 2007/2010 and Lync Server 2010. OfficeMaster Gate, in combination with OfficeMaster software, supports fax, SMS and voicemail, and received fax documents are forwarded directly to the user’s mailbox. Fax reception provides maximum compatibility with fax senders, since no T.38 protocol conversion is used.

OfficeMaster Survivable Branch Appliance supports Microsoft Lync Server 2010 and ensures that phones keep operating in branch offices even if the WAN fails. It is a Microsoft-qualified SBA for Lync Server 2010. With Lync Server 2010, Microsoft for the first time supports telephony even if the IP connection to the data center should fail. For these scenarios, Microsoft has defined a product called the “Survivable Branch Appliance.” The OfficeMaster SBA is based on a high-quality HP server running Windows Server 2008 R2 and the Microsoft SBA components. The necessary software components are pre-installed and can be activated by the local administrator with a simple web-based configuration interface.
