New offering makes it even easier for Microsoft Outlook users to schedule and join Blue Jeans meetings directly from their PC
Builds on Blue Jeans’ unique ability to bridge together Microsoft Lync and Skype desktops with traditional video conferencing rooms and telepresence suites
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Blue Jeans Network, the leader in interoperable video conferencing services, today announced the integration with Microsoft Outlook as part of its ongoing effort to extend self-serve video conferencing to every desktop across the enterprise. The new integration will provide a frictionless solution for scheduling Blue Jeans meetings to the estimated 500 million accounts worldwide using Outlook for email and calendaring within the enterprise.
Blue Jeans’ Outlook integration will enable users to schedule Blue Jeans meetings, invite guests, and book conference rooms the same way they would schedule any of their other meetings. By incorporating Outlook, Blue Jeans has made it even easier for its customers to get started hosting their own video meetings right from their desktop.
Ease of use and unmatched interoperability has been a hallmark of the Blue Jeans service since its launch in June 2011. Blue Jeans is the first and only video conferencing service to bridge together disparate business solutions from Cisco, Polycom, Lifesize, and Microsoft, with consumer solutions such as Skype and Google.
“Blue Jeans has addressed two of the biggest obstacles to the widespread rollout of video conferencing in the enterprise,” said James Matheson, Vice President of Marketing at Blue Jeans. “When you combine our broad interoperability with easy Outlook scheduling, all our subscribers need to care about is who they want to invite to a meeting and when they want the meeting to be. They no longer need to worry about where their participants will be or what devices they will have access to. Instead, users can use Outlook to schedule the meeting and Blue Jeans takes care of the rest in the cloud.”
Blue Jeans’ Outlook integration has been in private beta since March and will be available for customers beginning next week. For more information on the Microsoft Outlook integration, please visit: http://bluejeans.com/resources/microsoft-outlook-add-in.
