STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Frontier Communications Corporation has joined the ranks of the 100,000 Jobs Mission, a coalition of major corporations committed to hiring 100,000 transitioning service members and military veterans by 2020.
According to Maggie Wilderotter, Chairman and CEO of Frontier, the Mission complements the company’s strong efforts to help service members and other veterans lead successful lives after their military service. “Being part of the coalition will raise the visibility of the many career opportunities available at Frontier, especially in areas such as information technology, customer service and technical operations. Hiring veterans is not only the right thing to do, but a great thing to do for our business. Our nation’s military reservists and veterans have the skills every workplace needs.”
“Joining the 100,000 Jobs Mission builds upon Frontier’s ongoing commitment to military veterans,” Mrs. Wilderotter added. “Since Veterans Day in 2010, the company has worked with the Employer Partnership of the Armed Forces to boost career opportunities for members of the military reserve and veterans. Being part of the mission will help Frontier do more. Our military men and women were there for us; it’s our turn to be here for them.”
“We are delighted that Frontier has joined the mission,” said Nate Herman, Executive Director for Military and Veteran Affairs for JPMorgan Chase, a founding member of the 100,000 Job Mission Coalition. “They share the coalition’s focus on the entire continuum of veteran employment – recruiting, hiring, training, assimilation and retention. Our collective aim is not only to help veterans find jobs, but also to help them develop the skills they need for success in their first roles and throughout their civilian careers.”
