Jeff Lowe Brings Extensive Experience in B2B and Global Marketing
CALGARY, Alberta, April 3, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — SMART Technologies Inc., a leading provider of collaboration solutions, announces the appointment of Jeff Lowe as Vice President, Marketing. Lowe will lead the development, coordination and execution of the company’s global marketing strategies and will oversee all marketing functions, including strategy, market operations, social media initiatives and marketing communications. He is based at SMART’s headquarters in Calgary, Canada, and reports to Tom Hodson, President and Chief Operating Officer.
Lowe brings more than 22 years of marketing experience in technology and telecom sectors. He joins SMART from TELUS, a leading Canadian national telecommunications company, where as vice president of marketing, business solutions, he oversaw a team of 90 marketing professionals responsible for branding, marketing communications, product marketing and channel marketing. Under Lowe’s leadership, the TELUS team received industry recognition from Forrester, a global research and advisory firm, as best-in-class in B2B marketing and best practices in B2B lead-to-revenue management. The team also received several other awards, including the Voice of the Customer Award for Social Media Strategy and a Gold Award for Marketing with Social Media from the IT Marketing Association, and was ranked as best in class in B2B social media by the Marketing Leadership Council. Prior to TELUS, Lowe held senior positions with several global technology organizations, including IBM Corporation. He is currently a member of the board for the Canadian Marketing Association and was recently appointed to the Business-to-Business “Marketing Guru Group” by the Marketing Leadership Council. He holds an honors degree in marketing from the University of Calgary.
