The good news at this week’s ITEXPO are all the many things Unified Communications delivers.

There is some bad news, and the bad news can be pretty bad indeed. The integration of voice into the network and its operation as an application opens a door to attacks that once only data network managers had to worry about. Long-term readers of Telecom Reseller will remember that at the dawn of Internet Telephony, these security issues were on everyone’s mind. A decade on, and with IT as the dominant platform, and in most cases the only option available, those major security concerns have arrived.

NSFOCUS, which until now has not had much visibility in our market, came to ITEXPO with this message: get some protection now. In this podcast J. Christopher Jost, NFOCUS relations manager, makes the case to take action now to protect your network and why “homemade” and “kit-bashed” remedies are not up to the sort of challenges that are likely to come your way. He also points out that there is no such thing as an enterprise that is not a target.
