Solution enhances employee workflow while reducing costs and management overhead
PHOENIX, Arizona – August 25, 2010 – Mitel ® (NASDAQ: MITL), a leading provider of unified communications software solutions, today announced that Packaging Incorporated, a geographically distributed packaging and fastener supply company, has selected a Mitel communications solution to reduce conferencing and telephony equipment costs, improve productivity, and simplify management.
Packaging Incorporated selected the Mitel 5000 Communication Platform (5000 CP) and the Mitel Applications Suite (MAS) to replace their legacy Avaya solution. The combined Mitel solution delivers voice, unified access to voicemail, email and fax, plus integrated web and video conferencing and real-time presence capability.
This solution has allowed Packaging Incorporated to gain efficiencies through streamlined employee workflow, enhanced communication channels and simplified system management. In addition, the flexible capabilities of the Mitel 5000 CP means that the firm can leverage these enhanced IP productivity features without having to overhaul its existing network.
From an economic standpoint, the Mitel solution has reduced telecommunication equipment leasing costs for Packaging Incorporated by approximately fifty percent. The single server configuration of the Mitel 5000 CP with MAS drives down operating costs by bringing a smaller footprint and reduced energy consumption to the company’s server room while simplified system management frees up resources than can be applied elsewhere. The MAS integrated conferencing capabilities also contribute to cost savings by reducing conferencing expenses.
“Before we’d pay nearly twice as much per month in leasing and maintenance costs. At a fraction of the cost per month for the 5000, Mitel was the clear winner,” said Mike Sangrene, system administrator, Packaging Incorporated. “Additionally, with our new Mitel communications solution in place, management and employees can support innovative workflow, and that makes a huge difference on how we run our business”
“The Mitel 5000 CP is designed to address the dynamic needs of small and medium businesses like Packaging Incorporated,” said Paul Butcher, president and chief operating officer, Mitel. “By adding MAS to the package we were able to provide them with a seamlessly integrated enterprise grade IP solution at a very compelling price point”
Integra Telecom, a Mitel Diamond authorizedPARTNER, worked with Mitel and Packaging Incorporated to design and implement the solution.
